Lyrix 2 Extends the Value of Domino Content Enterprise-Wide
Thousands of organizations have invested heavily in Lotus Domino and have built Domino applications to manage and store their mission-critical information. Today, many of those organizations are adopting heterogeneous environments that rely on other platforms, and are looking for a way to seamlessly bridge these platforms, ensuring flexible content reuse while preserving context and meaning. Lyrix 2 is designed to play a key role in any organization's Domino content strategy, regardless of their current use or future plans for their Domino Applications.
Lyrix 2 enables direct, out-of-the-box reuse of Domino content, in a wide variety of enterprise applications:
-
Portals: BEA WebLogic ® , IBM WebSphere ® , Microsoft SharePoint ®
-
Collaboration Platforms: Lotus Workplace ® , Microsoft SharePoint
-
Content Management Solutions : Percussion Rhythmyx
-
Enterprise Applications: Sales Force Automation, Customer Relationship Management, Document Management
-
Web-based Applications: J2EE or .NET
Among the new features in Lyrix 2 is enhanced support for Microsoft SharePoint, adding automatic cataloging for Domino content, such as Document Libraries. The addition of bi-directional support for both Content Services and Content Transfers, gives users the ability to submit content changes from target applications to Domino applications. For example, Web sites built in either J2EE or .NET can use content from Domino and enable visitors to update the content and submit it back to Domino. Another addition to the product is Single Sign On, which allows users to sign in to a non-Domino system based on their security (ACLs) from Domino, allowing organizations to continue to use Domino's industry-leading security capabilities.
Lyrix 2 is based on a state-of-the-art Web services architecture that converts Domino content into formats easily consumed by other applications. It automatically transforms all unique Domino attributes (e.g., Rich Text, embedded images, doc links, attachments, etc.) into standard XML and xHTML. Using Lyrix's visual mapping interface, developers create Content Types, which define the pieces of Domino content required by external applications. Domino content can then be accessed directly with Content Services, or it can be transferred to external file systems and databases using Content Transfers.
