New Features

Percussion ServerAdmin Plus V8.5 provides one-stop shopping for administering Lotus Domino® by combining comprehensive, proactive support for both Servers and Clients. Enhanced capabilities in V8.5 include integrated server and client functionality to achieve complete automation of server consolidation; an extension of the product's client management capabilities; enhanced NSF Search and Properties Wizard functionality; and enhanced mail and document migration.

Complete automation of server consolidation

Server consolidation includes new, integrated client capabilities that make server consolidation seamless to end-users. Only ServerAdmin Plus can integrate server-based actions with end-user client changes, tying all aspects of server consolidation projects together. This allows you to create multi-step projects that include:

  • Selecting databases with user activity from one
  • Verifying ACL settings for Local Domain Servers
  • Adding target servers to ACLs
  • Modifying basic and advanced replication settings
  • Replicating the databases to the target server
  • Updating ACL settings
  • Updating basic and advanced replication settings
  • Deleting old servers from ACLs
  • Updating desktop icons, replicator necessary - on all affected end user clients

Extension of client management functionality

The ability to automatically reconfigure end users' Notes client settings remotely is critical when servers are added, consolidated, renamed or decommissioned. Server Admin Plus' Client Manager now enables you to centrally manage end-user clients, in addition to automating client upgrades. This new capability allows you to remotely manage Notes clients by updating desktop icons, replication information, and location documents. In addition, Client Manager enables you to easily push out connection and location documents, as well as desktop icons.

Enhanced NSF Search and Properties Wizard capabilities

V8.5 eliminates the complexity and tedium of administering Domino with new properties that you can search and modify. In addition to extending your ability to find problems, V8.5 empowers you with a multi-select capability that makes global databases and template changes quick and easy - even across servers. The new searches and actions also facilitate the creation of custom, multi-step projects that can run on a scheduled basis and automatically notify you of problems. For example, you can create projects that:

  • Set or change advanced replication setting properties across multiple databases
  • Identify databases that do or do not have document locking enabled
  • Enable or disable document locking across multiple databases
  • Identify if a database is full-text indexed
  • Create or delete a full-text index across multiple databases
  • Find databases where "record database activity" is or is not enabled across multiple databases
  • Identify databases with no or low user activity for a specified period of time

Make global changes with the Database properties wizard by selecting multiple databases in NSF Explorer, ACL Search, NSF Search and Pro Manager.

Enhanced mail and document migration

Using the Pro Manager, you can now selectively move documents to alternate locations (e.g., an archive, a less busy server, etc.). Documents can be selected based on user-defined rules, such as those based on keyword, size, date or attachment. ServerAdmin Plus V8.5 enables you to specify many-to-many mapping from multiple sources to their specific archive destinations.

Available options to specify rules include:

  • Keywords or phrases
  • Database views
  • Folders
  • Date ranges
  • Greater than a specified age
  • Field values (such as subject)
  • Size
  • Attachment name
  • Attachment size
  • Attachment extension
